What can I edit after my video is generated?
You can edit a finished video in the built-in video editor. You can change the visuals, the captions, the background music, and the sound. You cannot change the script and make the video regenerate itself. The voiceover that was recorded stays as it is, but you can add new voiceover clips.
How do I open the editor?
- Go to your videos on the videos list.
- Move your pointer over the video card.
- Click Edit.
- The editor opens with your video on a timeline. Your changes save automatically.
What can I change?
Part of the video | Can you change it? | How |
|---|---|---|
Visuals (images and clips) | Yes | Generate new images or clips, or upload your own, in the editor panels |
Captions | Yes | Pick a different caption style or add captions in the Captions panel |
Background music | Yes | In the editor only. Select the music track and click Change track, or generate a new track |
Sound effects | Yes | Generate them in the Music panel (30 credits each) |
Voiceover | Partly | You can generate new voiceover clips and place them on the timeline (50 credits per minute of audio). The original narration does not change when you edit the script text |
The script | No | There is no way to edit the script of a finished video and regenerate it. Create a new video instead |
Can I change the background music after generation?
Yes, but only in the editor. There is no music setting on the video page after generation. Open the video with Edit, select the background music on the timeline, and click Change track to pick a different track from the library. You can also generate a brand new track in the Music panel (38 credits per minute, minimum 5 credits).
Can I join two videos together?
Yes, in the editor. You can upload another video file and add it to the timeline:
- Open the first video with Edit.
- Open the Uploads panel and upload the second video file. MP4, MOV, and WebM work, up to 500 MB.
- Move the playhead to the end of the timeline, then click the uploaded file to add it there. You can also drag it into place.
- Click Export to render the combined video.
You can also start an empty project in the editor and combine several uploaded files the same way.
Can I change the script or the voiceover?
No. A finished video does not regenerate when you change text. The voiceover was recorded from your script during generation, and the captions were timed to that recording.
If you want different words, you have two options:
- Small change: open the video in the editor, generate a new voiceover clip with the new words, and place it on the timeline. Voice generation costs 50 credits per minute of audio.
- Big change: create a new video with the new script.
