How background music works

You pick background music when you create a video. The Background Music setting has three options: Auto, Choose, and None. Auto is on by default and picks a track that fits your video's mood. Background music added this way does not use your credits.


What does Auto music do?


With Auto, we read your script and match it to a music mood, like dark, suspenseful, happy, calm, or epic. We then add a track from our music library that fits that mood and energy. There are 25 moods, so horror stories, kids' facts, motivation, and finance videos each get music that fits.


You do not pay credits for auto music. It is part of video generation.


How do I pick my own track?


  1. On the video creation form, find Background Music.
  2. Click Choose.
  1. Pick a track from the list. You can preview tracks before you pick one.


Click None if you want no music at all.


Can I change the music after the video is generated?


Yes, but only in the video editor. There is no music setting on a finished video outside the editor.


  1. Go to the videos list.
  2. Click Edit on the video. It opens in the editor.
  3. Select the background music on the timeline.
  4. Click Change track and pick a different track from the library.


Can I generate new music or sound effects?


Yes, in the editor's Music panel. These generations cost credits:
