How to set up Autopilot

Autopilot makes a new video for you on a schedule: it picks a fresh topic, writes the script, generates the video, and can post it straight to your connected accounts. You set it up once in about two minutes. Autopilot needs an active plan.

How do I create an Autopilot?

The setup is a wizard. It asks one thing per screen, and you click Continue after each
one. It takes about two minutes.

1. Go to the autopilot page
2. Click Create Your First Autopilot (or New Autopilot if you have one already).

3. Choose your niche: pick one of the ready niches, or open Custom and describe your

own. We make a new video for that niche every time.

4. Language and voice: pick the language, then the voice that reads every video. Press

play to hear a voice before you pick it. Click Browse all voices to see the full list.

5. Music (optional): keep Auto and we match the music to each script. Or open

Upload and add your own tracks.

6. Pick the look: choose an art style for every scene, or open Custom and describe

the style you want. You can also click Use a picture. Pick a picture, review
the words we write from its look, then click Create style. Your saved style
stays selected when you connect a channel. The words guide your videos, not the picture itself.

7. Captions (optional): pick a caption style, or pick No captions.
8. Where it posts (optional): connect the accounts your videos post to. You can skip this

and connect an account later.

9. Set the schedule: check the name, pick the video length, then set the post time and

your time zone. The video is made at this time and posts as soon as it is ready. To check a video before it posts, leave the channel unconnected and post it yourself from your library.

10. Video type and posting: pick the video type, then how often it posts. This screen also

shows the credits per video and per month.

11. Click Create autopilot.

If you have no plan yet, the last screen shows the plans that cover your setup. Pick one to
turn the Autopilot on. Your setup is saved either way.

Can I choose a longer video?

Yes. When you edit an Autopilot or create another one, you can choose a target length
up to 20 minutes. Your first setup shows only the two short video choices.

1. Go to Set the schedule.
2. Open Advanced settings under Video length.
3. Move the Target length slider.

The Video length field shows the length you choose. To return to a short video,
choose either option from that dropdown. The slider moves to match. The exact video
length can vary with the voice.

Skeleton Video supports up to 7 minutes. If you choose it after setting a longer
video, the length changes to 7 minutes and a message tells you about the change.
The next screen shows the credits for your selected length and video type.

Can I use more than one music track?

Yes. On the Music screen, open Upload and add up to 5 tracks. We use a different one
on each video, in turn, so your channel does not sound the same every day. You can change the
tracks later. New uploads keep your saved tracks. To replace the saved tracks, click
Remove saved tracks, then add the new ones. The change applies to videos made after it.

Which video types can I pick?

Four, on the Video type and posting screen.

Skeleton Video has its own look, so the style you picked earlier does not apply to it.

Can I keep the videos instead of posting them?

Yes. Skip the Where it posts screen, or clear every account on it. Autopilot then makes
each video on your schedule and saves it to My Videos. Nothing posts,
so you can edit each video and post it yourself. You do not need a connected account for this.

We do not make the MP4 file until you ask for it, because most people edit the video first.
Click Export on the video when you want the file.

The Autopilot card then shows My Videos only. Open the Autopilot and turn posting back on
whenever you want.

I have no channel connected yet

Connect one on the Where it posts screen, or skip that screen and we save every video to
My Videos.

If you made an Autopilot earlier and its channel is gone, it shows Connect a channel to
publish. That Autopilot cannot start, and Make a video now stays off, until you add a
channel back. Open it, click Fix the channel, and pick one.

Do I need a paid plan?

Yes. Autopilot runs only with an active plan. Without one, your setup is saved as a draft and starts as soon as you upgrade. Each plan also sets how many Autopilots can run at the same time:

How many credits does Autopilot use?

Each video an Autopilot makes uses credits, the same as a video you make yourself. The last setup screen shows the credits per video and the credits per month before you
create it. Credits you do not use carry over to the next month. If your balance runs out, runs stop until you add credits.

When Autopilot posts for you, it also writes the title, description and tags for each video. That costs 10 credits per video on top of the video itself. If you turn posting off, that text is not written and the 10 credits are not used.

Does Autopilot write the title, description and tags?

Yes, when it posts for you. For each video it writes a title, a description and tags to suit
each platform you selected, so you do not have to.

You can steer it. Open the Autopilot, click Edit settings, go to the Where it posts
screen, and open Advanced settings. Whatever you put in Title and tags shapes every video that Autopilot makes from then on, for example a hook style, a
call to action, or the tags you always want.

With no account connected, Autopilot does not write this text, because nothing is being
posted.

Autopilot creates a thumbnail for each video by default. Each thumbnail uses extra credits, and the estimate includes them. To turn this off, open Pick the look → Advanced settings and change Create thumbnails.

Can Autopilot make videos in my language?

Yes. Pick your language on the Language and voice screen. Autopilot then writes every script, title and post text in that language, in its native script. To change it later, open the Autopilot, edit it, and pick a different language. The change applies to videos made after it.

The buttons and labels of our site stay in English, and your browser does not offer to
translate them. Translating the page used to break the setup, so we turned it off for our
site. This does not limit your videos in any way.

Do I get free credits for my first Autopilot?

Yes. You get 25 free credits when you set up your first Autopilot. This reward applies once and only for accounts that have never had a paid plan. Free credits and rewards.

The setup shows an error and I cannot go on

This used to happen when a browser translated the page while you filled in the setup. We
turned translation off for our site, so it no longer happens. You do not have to change any
browser setting.

If you still see an error, reload the page and start again. Your choices are not saved, so
enter them again. If the error comes back, message us in the chat and tell us which screen
you were on.

You can always make videos in your own language. The voice, the script and the captions all
follow the language you pick in the setup.

Autopilot made the video but did not post it

The posting step can fail on its own. When it does, the video is still finished and saved in
your videos list. Nothing is lost, and you can post
that video yourself from there.

Autopilot keeps its schedule. It makes the next video at the usual time, and one failed post
does not pause it.

How do I pause or change an Autopilot?

Open the autopilot page and use the controls on the Autopilot card. You can pause, resume, edit, or delete it anytime. You can also trigger a run right away instead of waiting for the schedule.

Can I make Autopilot music quieter or louder?

Yes. Open the Autopilot, click Edit settings, go to the Music screen, and open
Advanced settings. Move Music Volume there. New Autopilots start at 30 percent so the
music stays under the voice. Save, and every video Autopilot makes after that uses the new
volume.
