How to clone your voice
You can clone your own voice and use it to narrate your videos. Upload or record 1 to 2 minutes of clear speech, and the clone is ready in moments. Cloning is free; you only pay normal voice credits when a video uses the voice.
How do I clone my voice?
- Open a creation page, for example video creation page.
- Under the Voice field, click Clone a voice.
- The voice window opens on the My Voices tab. Click Clone a New Voice.
- In the Clone Your Voice window, add your audio in one of two ways:
- Drop an audio file in the upload box or click browse. Accepted: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, WebM, up to 25 MB.
- Or click Record Your Voice and speak into your microphone. Record at least 10 seconds; the recorder stops at 2 minutes. Click Stop Recording when done.
- Play the preview to check your audio. If it sounds noisy, re-record with a headset microphone.
- Type a Voice Name.
- Tick the consent box to confirm you have the right to clone this voice.
- Click Clone Voice.
When it is done, the voice appears under My Voices with a play button so you can hear a short preview, and it is selected for your next video.
How do I get the best clone quality?
- Speak naturally for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Use a quiet room with no background noise.
- Keep a steady tone and volume.
Where do I find my cloned voices later?
Open the voice picker and click the My Voices tab. Your clones are listed there with a play button. Click one and click Confirm to use it in a video. Cloned voices work in any video type that uses narration.
How do I delete a cloned voice?
- Open the voice picker and go to My Voices.
- Click the trash icon on the voice.
- Click Delete to confirm.
Deletion is permanent and removes the voice from your account and from the voice provider.
Can I clone someone else's voice?
Only clone a voice you have the rights to. Our provider blocks samples of protected voices, for example celebrities. If your clone is rejected, use a different audio sample.
