# How long can my videos be?

You can generate AI videos up to 20 minutes long. That is the limit for faceless videos, the longest format. Other video types have shorter limits.

## What is the limit for each video type?

## Why do some video types have shorter limits?

Two reasons:

- **Quality.** Short formats like Skeleton and 3D Characters are built for short-form platforms. Long runs of AI video clips lose consistency, so we cap them where the result stays good.
- **Cost control.** AI video costs credits per second. The caps stop one video from using far more credits than you expect. You always see the estimated credit cost before you generate.

## Can I make a 20-minute AI video?

Yes. Use the faceless video type on the [video creation page](https://app.aituber.app/dashboard/create). Write or generate a script of about 3,600 words, or pick a long duration in **Idea to Video** mode. AI images and stock footage keep long videos affordable; AI video clips cost more per second and need an active plan. Check the credit estimate in the form before you start.

## What does a long video cost?

## Can I make a finished video shorter or longer?

No. You cannot re-cut a generated video to a new length.

The length comes from the voiceover, and the voiceover comes from your script. A 3 minute
script makes a 3 minute video. To get 2 minutes instead, make a new video from a shorter
script, or set a shorter duration in **Idea to Video** mode and generate again.

You can shorten single clips on the timeline in the editor, but that only cuts the picture and
the sound that is already there. It does not rewrite the speech, so trimming the voiceover cuts
it off part way through a sentence.
