# Create and manage API keys

You create and manage API keys on the [API keys page](https://app.aituber.app/dashboard/api-keys). A key lets your code, scripts, or automation tools use the AITuber API with your account.

## How do I create an API key?

1. Sign in to your [AITuber dashboard](https://app.aituber.app/dashboard).
2. Go to the [API keys page](https://app.aituber.app/dashboard/api-keys). You can also click your profile picture and choose **API Keys**.
3. Click the button to add a new key and give it a name.

4. Copy the key and store it somewhere safe.

Every key starts with `ak_`. You send it with each API request:

```
Authorization: Bearer ak_your_key_here
```

## Keep your key secret

- Anyone who has your key can create videos and spend your credits.
- Never put a key in public code, a shared document, or a screenshot.
- If a key leaks, revoke it on the API Keys page and create a new one.

## Who does a key belong to?

Keys belong to your workspace, not to one person. If you use team members, everyone in the workspace shares the same keys, and API usage spends the shared credit balance.

## Where can I use my key?

- [API documentation](https://aituber.app/api)
- The AITuber MCP server uses the same key. See [Use AITuber from Claude and other AI tools (MCP)](https://help.aituber.app/en/article/use-aituber-from-claude-and-other-ai-tools-mcp-tot4l0/).
